The Vokins family started trading in Brighton in 1882, the business being founded by the current Managing Directors Great Grandfather. The first expansion of the company outside Brighton was in 1976 when the Blatchington Road, Hove store was opened. Since then branches have been opened in Ash Lane, Rustington 1994 and Denton Island, Newhaven, 1998. At the end of 2007, the Hove branch was closed, and the building was redeveloped although the address still houses the Head Office of he company.

vokins @ home remains independently owned and is an active member of AIS (Associated Independent Stores), the largest independent, non food-buying organisation in the UK. Membership ensures that we can compete with the big high street names, by offering a wide selection of merchandise at the most competitive prices.
